Joanne and Matthew get married in Newbury at St Leonard’s Church with their reception at Elcot Park – Elcot Park Hotel Wedding Photography
Meet the lovely Jo and Matt – they got married late August this year in the Newbury area. I met Jo at her parents home address in Basingstoke where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and her parents. By the time I arrived Jo had already had the majority of her make-up done and it was so flawless – she already looked stunning and she was only half way to being ready. As Jo’s hair was finished off I went upstairs to take some shots of her dress, shoes and her jewellery. Jo’s dress was a beautiful strapless design with a full gown, complete with stunning gold embroidery which subtlety complimented her gold jewellery. The bridesmaids dresses were a bold royal blue – a lovely choice which suited the girls colourings perfectly.
After the bridesmaids were ready they headed off to the church and I stayed back with Jo and her parents so they could help her to finish getting dressed and to get her veil in place.
My second photographer on the day was Rachel Haward and she met Matt at the church with the rest of the boys to get some nice casual images of them before the service. Matt seemed calm and wasn’t phased at all by getting married – he looked great in his grey suit with matching blue and cream buttonhole.
The weather stayed kind to us as Jo arrived at the church. The car pulled up and we got some images of the girls and Jo’s Dad before they all went inside. The church rules were fairly strict on photography but we were allowed to capture Jo as she walked the aisle and we managed to get a few images during the service too.
Due to plenty of time after the ceremony, we decided to capture the main family images at the church before we left for Elcot Park Hotel – this included some confetti too of course 🙂
When we arrived at the hotel, Jo and Matt were greeted with some champagne to toast their marriage. Rachel and I got some images of them with the car before going inside to capture the guests enjoying the canapés.
Before dinner we made the most of the weather and had time for a few couple shots before it started to gently spit with rain. Luckily it didn’t come to much and the rest of the evening was dry with some sunshine coming through the clouds – perfect for an added bit of drama to the photographs!
Thanks to Jo and Matt who also very kindly fed us a beautiful roast chicken dinner! It was really delicious and much appreciated! Both Rachel and I loved being a part of your special day and we hope you enjoy the images for many years 🙂 x x x
