Hampshire Wedding Photographer – The Great Barn Titchfield
Though I am a Hampshire wedding photographer, I hadn’t yet photographed at The Great Barn in Titchfield until this wedding.
I began my day with Jess, her bridesmaids and family at the De Vere New Place hotel in Shirrell Heath. https://www.newplacehotel.com/partner/new-place/
The girls were so excited during bridal prep. Everyone was looking stunning! Make up was done by the incredibly talented Lucy from Lucy Houghton Make Up. Her website can be found here: https://www.lucyhoughtonmakeup.co.uk/gallery. I love working with Lucy, she creates the most naturally beautiful looking brides.
My second photographer Rachel was with Stuart and the boys in the morning. She met them at a local pub for natural, relaxed images. I think a few pre wedding drinks were needed to calm the nerves! Stu looked great in his three piece suit – it was probably a little warm for the weather, but he pulled it off well.
Jess and Stu’s wedding was really pretty. They decorated the barn beautifully. I loved the little glass vases of flowers which were centred down the aisle and the wooden crates which were used to house vases, photos and later on breads and food for the evening.
The Great Barn is a really cool wedding venue! It’s so rustic, totally shabby chic and on trend! The ceremony takes place on the stage – a lot of theatre productions take place here. The bride enters the barn from the opposite end and goes up the steps, into the audience and down the aisle towards the stage – it’s really quite an entrance!
The bridemaids, ushers and best man were seated on the stage too – a nice touch. I took photos from the front of the ceremony while my second photographer Rachel took images from up on the stage.
Drinks and canapes were served out on the lawn at the side of the barn. Live music played and guests relaxed as we started group images. Jess and Stu didn’t want too many couple images taken – they were a little nervous but they pulled it off so well! Daughter Sophia got involved too and loved running around in front of the camera.
Speeches commenced before the food was served. Father of the bride began, Stu followed and then the best man, Stuart’s Brother, finished the speeches off. Everyone sat down to a yummy three course meal and Rachel and I left for a quick break.
After dinner, the weather was still pretty warm and guests could enjoy the outdoors for a little longer before evening guests arrived. Their evening entertainment included a DJ and lots of dancing!
Thanks you two for a brilliant day – we thoroughly enjoyed it! x x x
