Melanie and Rupert marry in Somerset – Haslebury Mill Wedding Photographer
Melanie and Rupert got married in Somerset where Melanie grew up with her family. It was a beautiful sunny day in March and although it was still very much Winter, it felt like Spring was well on the way.
I started by photographing Mel at her parents home address where she was getting ready with her family and bridesmaids. Mel looked stunning in her lacey gown. Her make up and hair was beautifully natural – nothing too over the top and she looked so pretty. Her flowers were in gorgeous tones of pinks, peaches and purples. Mel had some peonies and roses mixed into her bouquet – my favourite flowers! After Mel was nearly ready I headed off ahead of everyone to capture a few shots of Rupert greeting the guests at the church and waited for the wedding car to arrive with the bridesmaids, Mel and her parents.
The ceremony was beautiful and the church was gorgeous too! I stood towards the back and captured all the details and the exchange of vows and rings. After the ceremony we headed out into the church grounds for confetti throwing before heading to Haslebury Mill for more photographs. It was chilly by this point but guests were happy to come outside for the group photos in between canapes and drinks inside the warmth of Haslebury Mill.
Luckily the sun stayed with us for some couple shots and only really disappeared as we all headed inside to start the wedding breakfast – we couldn’t have been luckier with the weather for this time of year.
After the speeches we got a few extra couple shots in the dark with some flash and using the ambient light around Haslebury Mill. As evening guests began to arrive, the band kick started the evening and the first dance began. I had time to capture a few party shots and then I left the wedding party to dance into the night as I made my way back home.
Thank you Mel and Rupert for a wonderful day – it was a pleasure to be your Haslebury Mill Wedding Photographer x
