Horsley Towers Wedding Photographer – Gee and Lewis get married
I am now officially a Horsley Towers wedding photographer! I have wanted to shoot at this wonderful venue for ages and last summer I finally had the pleasure! Lewis and Gee contacted me about being their Horsley Towers wedding photographer back in Nov 2020 and I was thrilled when they booked me. This venue is beyond breathtaking. Imagine everything you ever dreamed of as a little girl – it’s like the fairytale venue!
This lovely couple chose July for their wedding. It was a warm and pleasant day. The sky was a soft grey which created beautiful, diffused light – something us photographers love! Gee was getting ready in the bridal suite with her Sisters, her Niece’s and her Mum. The girls all instantly showed me a lovely warm welcome and I knew we’d have a fantastic day together.
Gee’s dress was incredible – I wanted to wear it myself! It photographed beautifully and complimented her petite figure perfectly. Her lovely long hair was worn half up and half down, with a long veil to complete the look. She looked so glam, I couldn’t wait for the reveal to her Dad and when he finally saw her the result was just as expected!
My favourite part of any wedding day – seeing the Groom standing with quiet anticipation at the front of the aisle! Lewis looked so smart, slightly nervous, but he was just excited to marry his lovely bride. When Gee walked in he looked so happy (I mean, who wouldn’t! What a stunner!) and smiled from ear to ear. I loved capturing some sweet little moments between the two of them during vow and ring exchanges and also a tear or two from the guests too!
The ceremony room at Horsley Towers is absolutely wonderful – I’d recommend this venue for the ultimate ‘wow’ factor to anyone looking to get married!
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the front of Horsley Towers to get ready for confetti. Gee and Lewis enjoyed a quiet moment together, alone, while myself and the Horsley team lined the guests up. As the newlyweds walked through, everyone cheered and congratulated them – the atmosphere was superb!
We then made our way indoors for drinks and canapes. It’s during this time of a wedding reception that I can get into my ‘ninja’ mode and capture lots of lovely candid moments between guests! It’s fun to try and spot little snippets between people that would otherwise be missed. I know my couples really enjoy looking back and seeing things that they’d otherwise have missed!
Ollie from Mooncast Films was shooting video this day. He was so lovely, I would highly recommend him to anyone searching for a Videographer. His sly, fly on the wall approach worked so well. He was discreet, yet in the moment. Ollie really helped me out too! Having no assistant this day, Ollie stepped in and helped hold flashes for me during couple shots. He was so kind. So many guests commented about how great he was!
Gee and Lewis were certainly not afraid of having their photos taken! I think we could have taken them all day but I am always aware that my couples need time to enjoy their reception time too. We made sure we captured plenty of group images, as this was high on their priority list, some beautiful couple shots and plenty of candid stuff too.
The speeches for this wedding were brilliant. Gee’s Dad was hilarious, sweet and entertaining – I’m so glad it was captured on film by Ollie! The two little flower girls spoke too! They were so brave and confident – absolutely wonderful considering how young their both were. Lewis and his Best Man shared some very heartfelt words too and I definitely spotted some tears around the room!
The first dance began soon after the meal. Lewis and Gee had some wonderful dance moves! But so did the flower girls! They treated everyone to a proper choreographed dance routine and really got the party started – well done girls!
We ended the night with some sparkler shots. These can be fun but you need to be prepared! I might need to do a separate blog post for this…one day! For best results always tell your photographer that you’re planning on doing sparklers in advance of the big day and they can give you some good hints and tips!
Right, time to leave you with some beautiful images. If you’re looking to get married at this amazing venue, then please consider me as your Horsley Towers wedding photographer!
