Chris & Sarah’s Lainston House Winter Wedding Photography
Lainston House Winter Wedding Photography – Sarah and Chris are such a lovely couple. Sarah is the sister of a friend of mine so I was very excited to be a part of her special day. Lainston House is one of my all time favourite venues in Hampshire. It is so breathtaking – the place where you dream of getting married as a little girl. Check out this link if you are not familiar with the venue – http://www.lainstonhouse.com/EXCLUSIVE_HOTELS/the_hotel.aspx
Sarah and Chris based their whole day here, and why not?! They got ready in the hotel. I was with Sarah and the girls in the morning. The rooms are stunning – they are bigger than my whole home put together! It’s so nice to have plenty of space for everyone to get ready on the morning of a wedding. Sarah’s two sisters were her bridesmaids and her little boy was dressed up all smart like a little pageboy. Sarah had a gorgeous strapless dress on which complemented her figure beautifully. Her flowers were very simple and elegant – a creamy white bouquet which was perfect for a Winter wedding.
The ceremony was held in the Dawley Barn at Lainston House. It’s so gorgeous in there! It’s great for Winter weddings because it has quite a cozy feel to it with the lovely large fireplace and exposed wooden beams. Fairy lights adorned the ceiling and created a gorgeous ambient glow. There was a surprise for our Groom Chris during the vows! Eric the owl was the ringbearer and he swooped in over all the guests to deliver the rings to the Best Man! He was a handsome Owl – the most striking black eyes I’ve ever seen.
After the service, guests went back over to the main hotel for drinks and canapés. I began to capture lots of natural images while everyone was congratulating the new Mr and Mrs. The weather dried up just in time for us to get the family photos done outside. The gardens at Lainston House are so beautiful it would have been a shame not to have done them out there.
Sarah, Chris and I spent some time before the wedding breakfast getting a variety of couple shots in and around Lainston. They were so easy to photograph – their emotions and expressions came so naturally and Sarah was so giggly that she looked radiant and happy in all the photos!
As guests sat down for the wedding breakfast I took some time to plan a few shots for later on for when it got dark. I like to get a little creative with flash techniques and to capture something different for my couples.
After a romantic first dance, Chris, Sarah and I went back into the main house and got some creative images using the change in light levels. I then left the couple to party the rest of the night away! Thanks for being so much fun you two xxx
