Sammy and Nick – Marwell Hall – Wedding Photography Winchester.
This was such a fun wedding for me and I’d been looking forward to it for so many weeks! Sammy and Nick are a really fun couple, are very easy going with photography and are happy to do all sorts of fun ideas! We met at Marwell Zoo for an engagement shoot in October last year and they’d bought along some fun props to use such as giraffe headbands and giraffe umbrellas! We had good fun together so I knew their wedding would be extra special. On a sunny day in March I met Sammy at the Marwell Hotel located near Winchester to photograph her getting ready with her sister Claire. Claire was in charge of doing Sammy’s hair and she did a beautiful job of it considering it was her first attempt at curling! Sammy bravely did her own make up and she looked gorgeous with her beaded strappy dress on. As we got onto the train which took us up into the zoo and towards Marwell Hall it started to rain a little but luckily that was all we saw of the rain for the rest of the day. Sammy and Nick had a second photographer, Sarah Morris, to go and meet Nick before to service took place – Nick looked fantastic in his suit and we could see how excited he was to make Sammy his wife. After a beautiful ceremony we stepped outside to take a variety of group shots of all the guests with the new Mr and Mrs Williams and then shortly afterwards headed over to the Lemur enclosure where Sammy and Nick were to have their ‘Animal Encounter’! Sadly the lemurs were far too warm and snug in their little house that they refused to come out and see us! Even when coaxed with plenty of yummy treats the poor zoo-keeper had to give up and told us it wouldn’t be happening! Luckily though, we were taken over to the giraffe enclosure to feed them instead! The rest of the afternoon was spent back at Marwell Hall for plenty of cupcakes and tea, allowing the guests to re-fuel and warm up inside. Sammy’s Dad made a little speech to congratulate the new couple and to say thank you to everyone for attending the wedding. Evening entertainment was honestly amazing! Sammy had told me that there would be a big surprise at the wedding but she wouldn’t tell me what it was! Even after begging her to tell me in case I needed to set up any fancy camera equipment she said ‘it’s a band. We won’t tell you who, but you will know them!’ So as Sammy and Nick did their first dance I waited in anticipation as to who might be on the other side of the double doors! After their dance the doors opened up and everyone’s faces were a picture! Wide opened mouths and gasps from the guests as they piled into the room next door to see who the mystery band were! It turned out that it was the Wurzles! Best known for their 1976 number one single ‘Combine Harvester’! These guys were epic. So so much fun and the perfect end to a perfect wedding. Sammy and Nick you were fun through and through. Thank you for being such a relaxed couple and allowing me to completely enjoy your wedding day with you. I felt like one of the guests and went home on a complete high – thanks for letting me be a part of your amazing day. x x x
