Hazel and Philip get married at Southend Barns – Southend Barns Wedding Photography
Hazel and Philip booked me for their Southend Barns Wedding Photography after a recommendation from Phil’s sister, Sarah. Sarah is a very talented hair and make-up artist and she was at a wedding with me back in July 2014. She was impressed with my work so kindly recommended me to her lovely Brother and I’m so glad she did. Hazel and Phil are the most wonderful, genuine and lovely couple! We got on really well and I knew it would be an amazing day for me to capture. For those of you who might be looking for a hair and make-up artist here is Sarah’s website – she comes very highly recommended by me and is going to be a part of my own wedding next year! – http://www.bridal-makeupandhair.com/gallery.html
Hazel got ready in the gorgeous bridal suite at Southend Barns – it’s such a lovely little apartment with plenty of space for larger bridal parties too. Hazel was with her sister Louise who was her bridesmaid, Sarah and her lovely Mum. Hazel looked so stunning. I knew she’d make a gorgeous bride, but wow she really impressed! Her dress was incredible – basically a strapless dress which could be transformed with an over the top laced piece to turn it into a full dress with sleeves and extra details. Louise her bridesmaid was in a gorgeous burgundy red dress which was perfect for the time of year in late January. Hazel’s Mum had knitted the girls and herself matching shrugs to keep them warm throughout the day 🙂
The ceremony took place in the Dairy Barn. It’s a long, narrow room which can hold plenty of guests if needed but Hazel and Phil just had close family and a few friends which was really intimate. It was an emotional ceremony and at the end Hazel sang a song for everyone and her Dad accompanied her on guitar.
We went outside afterwards to do some confetti images but then headed back into the dairy barn for nibbles and drinks as it was too chilly outside! I took group images at the end of the room by a gorgeous mirror while everyone chatted and enjoyed the reception time.
Hazel, Phil and I then braved the cold to get some couple images outdoors in the daylight before dinner. They are naturally amazing with the camera and we had fun getting images in and around Southend Barns and some with Phil’s lovely car too!
After dinner the speeches commenced, followed by some more amazing singing and music by Hazel and her Dad. There was also a game of ‘Pass the Parcel’! It was brilliant fun!
As the evening drew nearer, lots and lots more evening guests arrived to join in the party. Hazel and her Dad treated us all to more singing and music and Hazel’s Mum joined them too! We then cut the cake and the first dance happened. It was a brilliant evening.
