Sian & Ray’s New Years Rhinefield House Wedding
I just love being a wedding photographer at Rhinefield House. This venue is another of Hampshire’s best. Perfect for Summer, Winter, in fact all year round weddings. Check out Rhinefield House’s website here.
We weren’t blessed with the best weather on New Years Eve. It was dry to start with but very windy and cold! The day started with myself and second photographer Rachel at Rhinefield House. I met Sian and her girls in one of the bridal suites and Rachel met Ray and the boys for some casual photos of them getting ready.
Sian was so cheery and happy – clearly on top of the world! She was so excited to marry her lovely Ray and I felt honoured to be there at that time to share in all the emotions. Sian’s sister was maid of honour and along with the other 2 bridesmaids and flower girl, Sian was in good company for the morning. Her lovely Mum was getting ready with the girls too. They were such a welcoming and kind bunch of ladies and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the morning celebrations.
Ray was a bit apprehensive about photographs at the start of the day but he seemed to settle into it. I always tell people just to ignore us and more often than not it makes for the best, relaxed images. My biggest compliment that I can receive on a wedding day is ‘oh we barely noticed you were here’, which means I have done my job well and blended in to the day!
A gorgeous ceremony took place in front of the enormous Christmas tree in the main hall at Rhinefield House. Ray looked particularly nervous as Sian walked down the aisle but the couple were soon laughing and joking together as they said their vows. Ray is such a fun chap – he really made Sian and everyone laugh numerous times. The images captured are so relaxed and you can see they were completely themselves, which I love! Ray’s Brother Scott was his Best Man and had the honour of presenting the rings during the service.
The Reception and evening
Drinks were served in the main bar at Rhinefield House. Rachel and I captured plenty of natural images of the guests meeting, greeting and congratulating the couple. There was a magician going round entertaining the guests at this time too! As the weather was currently dry I took the opportunity to get the main family members outside for group images. Typically though, just as we started couple shots, the heavens opened and it poured for a while! Sian and Ray were up for having some fun, so we grabbed some brollies and stayed out for a few minutes longer.
The wedding breakfast room looked so beautiful. I love this time of year – Christmas is always magical somehow. Their flowers were by the talented Claire Carter from La Luna Floral Design. Gorgeous red roses and large candles in jars adorned the tables. It really looked special and so cozy!
Guests started to make their way into the wedding breakfast room but not before taking a shot from Sian and Ray’s ‘Take a shot then take your seat’ table plan!
Speeches commenced after the meal. The Bride’s Father began and it was sweet seeing Sian well up, trying to hold back tears. Best Man Scott’s speech was fantastic and Sian’s Sister, maid of honour, also did a short speech about Sian. Sian then finished with a few Thank You’s. Ray wasn’t keen to do a speech so he had the nice job of just listening and laughing along to all the jokes 🙂
Evening entertainment included a DJ and and FIREWORKS! How lovely to have fireworks to finish your New Years Eve wedding! It was an epic display and guests loved it. Luckily the weather wasn’t actually too bad at this point – very cold, but it stayed dry for the display which was really lucky!
There was no first dance to end the night with but I feel the sparklers were a fantastic way to kick off the party. Rachel and I left at this point and we very much hope the rest of the evening and the stroke of midnight were a perfect end to the year for this amazing couple. Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer at Rhinefield House.
