Joe and Kay get married! – Wedding Photography Bishops Waltham
Joe and Kay’s wedding was so beautiful! It was a proper D.I.Y wedding done in the most perfect way.
It all began in the morning at Kay’s parents home. Kay got ready with her two lovely sisters and her best friend who were all bridesmaids. They wore pretty minty coloured dresses and looked totally gorgeous. Kay’s dress was made by her very, very talented Mum! It was so special to think that no one else would ever get married in this dress and that it was completely unique to Kay. I can’t even imagine how long it must have taken to make, but Kay’s lovely Mum did say she didn’t think she would want to repeat the process for Kay’s two sisters for their weddings!
Kay booked a gorgeous horse and carriage to take her and her Dad to the church at Bishops Waltham. When it arrived at the house to pick her up the neighbours came out and had a peek to admire the gorgeous bride! At this point I made my way to the church so I could get parked and ready for the horse and carriage to arrive shortly after.
Bishops Waltham church is just lovely. I think it’s one of my favourite churches to shoot in. The light was good for photography and the interior means plenty of space for everyone. There is also ample room for me as a photographer to move around and get plenty of different angles and variety.
After the service we had time for confetti shots outside the church and plenty of lovely natural images too. It was still dry at this point in the day but as soon as we reached the reception venue unfortunately the rain began….and got worse….and worse!
Kay, Joe and the guests didn’t let the rain phase them! The reception was held in Joe’s Auntie’s garden in Botley. They live in a beautiful place! The garden is large and looks out onto fields. There was a marquee set up and guests didn’t venture in there to cover from rain – they braved it under the large Oak tree in the garden!
I had just enough time to get all the group shots done in the garden under two apple trees. After this it got very heavy and guests began to take shelter in the marquee. I busied myself taking photos of all the gorgeous home made details that Kay had so cleverly made. Everything was made by Kay – she’s so clever. I think she got many ideas from the wonderful Pinterest. In the little Wendy House in the garden the couple had set up an adorable sweet shop complete with jars, penny sweets and even an old cash register!
After the wedding breakfast was enjoyed, the speeches commenced. They were so emotional – especially the speech from the Best Man who is Joe’s Brother. Many tears were shed at this stage – both happy and sad at the recent passing of Joe’s lovely Grandad.
After speeches, Kay, Joe and I ventured out into the rain for some couple shots. We also took photos in their gorgeous teepee tents! This is where they were spending the night – it was so pretty inside.
A little later the first dance began and after plenty of party photos I left everyone to enjoy the rest of the evening. Thanks for hosting such a wonderful wedding you two. It was so much fun for me photograph! xxx
